Former Red Sox Head Athletic Trainer Opens Physical Therapy Performance Center

Provides Elite Level Physical Therapy and Personal Training to Waltham

WALTHAM, MA – August 13, 2014 – Dr. Mike Reinold, the former Head Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist for the Boston Red Sox, has recently opened Champion Physical Therapy and Performance, in Waltham, MA.

After years of helping professional athletes return from injury and excel at their sport, Reinold and co-founder Lenny Macrina, are determined to create a similar environment for the general public in Waltham for the surrounding communities.

“Mike’s the best at helping people perform better.  This is a pretty great opportunity for the local community to benefit like I have,” said Los Angeles Dodgers and former Boston Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett.

Champion was founded to recreate the integrated sports medicine model used to enhance elite athletic performance for people of all ages and ability levels.

Reinold explains “Everyone should have access to elite-level care.  People are starting to take control of their own health and wellness and focusing on how they can get the most out of their bodies.  People want to feel better, move better, and perform better.  We want to provide physical therapy and personal training programs that will help people reach these goals.”

This integrated approach to physical therapy, fitness, and sports performance allows a team of experts to collaborate on helping you reach your goals.  Champion takes an individualized approach and creates a customized program no matter what your current level of health or fitness.

“Everyone’s body is different and has different needs and goals.  A generic fitness program isn’t the best option for most people,” said Macrina.  “The programs we use are based off the programs we design everyday for professional athletes, but adjusted for each person’s age and ability level. The principles are the same if your goal is return from an injury, lose weight, get back in shape, or perform better at a sport.”

Clients have been traveling from all over the world to consult with Champion, including top level professional athletes.  Reinold is equally as excited to help the local area “Lenny and I both grew up in the Boston area.  We are proud to offer these programs for the local community.  That really means a lot to us.”

Champion Physical Therapy and Performance is located at 108A Clematis Avenue in Waltham, MA.  To celebrate their opening, new members can join 14- or 21-day personal training Jump-Start programs at a special price for a limited time.
